Hey there, fellow Fiat enthusiasts! If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the lookout for fantastic regional events to attend. Well, I recently had the pleasure of joining the Roman Chariots Italian Invasion in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and let me tell you, it was fantastic.
The event brought together an incredible mix of both classic and modern spiders, along with a stunning 124 coupe. The only exception to the Fiat lineup was a lone Alfa Romeo, but we welcomed it with open arms. After all, it’s all about celebrating Italian automotive excellence!
It’s been a while since Arkansas had seen an event like this, and I genuinely hope that the Roman Chariots can make it a more frequent occurrence. Personally, I’ve decided to attend more of these regional gatherings that happen all across the country. They are an absolute blast!
Our adventure was based at the beautiful Baymont Hotel, nestled right on the shores of Lake Hamilton. The hotel not only offered breathtaking views but also served as a launching pad for some thrilling drives through the Ouachita National Forest and the surrounding areas. Scenic views were abundant, and I couldn’t resist sharing the excitement with you. So, make sure to watch the YouTube video to see it all unfold!
Our journey began with the revving of engines and the anticipation of a fantastic day. However, we encountered our one and only hiccup when Alan hit a piece of road debris that wreaked havoc on his emergency brake cable. But, with the help of our Fiat family, he was back on the road in no time.
Before lunch, we made a stop at a mesmerizing overlook in Petit Jean State Park. It was an excellent opportunity to capture some stunning shots of the cars and engage in some passionate Fiat discussions. And yes, lunch at Mather Lodge was nothing short of amazing!
We also visited Nimrod Dam, a beautiful spot for turtle watching and soaking in the natural beauty of Arkansas. It was a great chance to unwind and chat about our beloved cars.
Back at the hotel, the day concluded with an exciting raffle and awards ceremony. Everyone walked away with something special, and Lynn’s handcrafted awards from wine crates added a unique touch to the event.
I can’t express how grateful I am for everyone who joined this incredible event. Your presence made it an unforgettable weekend.
