I had a blast, and the staff at MSR Houston was excellent!
First time tracking the Fiata! It had been 6 or 7 years since the last time I was at MSR Houston, so I am very grateful an instructor was able to ride along with me for a few laps.
I wish I could have recorded what the instructor was telling me. His landmarks and guidance were extremely helpful. He had me braking much later than I thought possible. There were times I thought I was going to fly off the track, but I trusted his experience, the car amazingly turned, and blasted out of the corners at good speed.
The factory brakes on the Classica held up well. No fade despite getting on them hard enough to activate ABS in most corners. Makes me wonder if the Brembo option on the Abarths is really necessary… The only non-factory parts on the car are 4C ignition coils and a Chipbox. Everything was reliable and smooth despite the track abuse.
