If you’ve never been to RADwood, you’re missing out. It’s a car show specifically for 80s and 90s vehicles, and a celebration of the culture from that era. People dress up in cliché rad attire, as well. So of course I put on my Don Johnson suit and took the Blue Bertone to the show. The X1/9 got a lot of attention!
Shockingly, there were three Lancia Delta Integrales there plus a smattering of Ferraris, but Blue Bertone was the only “FIAT.” There were quite a few MR2s at the show, and it was entertaining watching people glance at the X1/9 thinking it was an AW11 then do a double take and say, “wait… What is that?” Others recognized it as a FIAT, but were flummoxed by the Bertone badging. There were a handful of people who knew exactly what it was, and I even had a great conversation about the exploits of Malcolm Bricklin with one fellow.
Not to be outshone by me, our CMO & Editor, Yma brought the Rad Ram to the show. Properly accessorized with a Honda XL250s, ready to shred some wicked jumps.
Stay tuned to our YouTube channel; I’ll be posting a video tour of the show later today or tomorrow. It was a fantastic day, and I can’t wait for next year.
