I’m always seeking better methods of performing routine tasks, so I tried out an electric fluid transfer pump for an oil change. Not sure if I like it or not… Think I prefer the manual vacuum operated TopSider instead. The electric pump would be better if it was more powerful. It does operate close to its stated flow rate of 12 Liters Per Hour. For most vehicles that will take 25-30 min to extract the oil. The upshot is this little pump is less than $20. I bet I could find a more powerful 110v pump, but it would cost significantly more.
